Role: Cinematic & Lighting Artist
Project Type: Announcement Trailer (Survival Horror)
Project Overview: Production of the announcement trailer for Propagation: Paradise Hotel, a high-stakes VR survival horror game. The main challenge was to translate the oppressive atmosphere of the VR experience into a linear cinematic format, using lighting and camera pacing to build genuine tension.
Key Responsibilities:
- Horror Cinematography : Direction of camera movements focused on narrative pacing using slow, deliberate tracking shots to build suspense and unease before key reveals.
- Atmospheric Lighting: Strategic use of shadow and volumetric lighting to isolate the character and sculpt the darkness, enhancing the claustrophobic feel of the hotel.
- Character Animation Polish: Refinement of gameplay animations using Control Rig within Sequencer to add weight and emotion to the character's movements, bridging the gap between game and film.
- Visual Fidelity : Upgrading shaders and FX specifically for the cinematic render (Movie Render Queue) to surpass standard runtime quality.
Objective: To master the art of "Visual Silence" and tension, delivering a polished cinematic that communicates the horror genre's specific mood without relying solely on jump scares.
